Hey folks!
The long-standing idea of mine to eventually launch a newsletter for Sunset Obsession has received an unexpected boost last week. This video by Ali Abdaal popped up in my YouTube feed seemingly out of nowhere, and this got me thinking.
It’s funny how sometimes all you need is just a little random push. And suddenly, the ball gets rolling on what’s been brewing at the back of your mind for a long time but didn’t come to fruition before now.
So here we are. The first ever issue of the Sunset Obsession newsletter. In all honestly, I’m not yet entirely sure where this is going to lead. In that sense, this is still largely a work in progress. What I do know, however, is that I’m excited.
You see, with blogging, there are rules. Your article needs to be specific, it needs to be thorough, and well-structured, and it needs to have good SEO. Above all, it has to answer the questions of those coming to read it.
This doesn’t leave much place for an ad-hoc free-flowing discussion on a great number of topics. Interesting things that happen or ideas that occur to me don’t always fit the rather rigid format of a blog post.
And that’s where I see this newsletter coming in. Not necessarily to publish exclusive content but to have an open two-way channel for sharing my thoughts and having an honest conversation about all things photography, travel, blogging, and creativity.
So strap yourselves in, and let’s see where this takes us. Every week I’ll send you my musings on a particular topic that’s been on my mind lately. Hopefully, there is some value in it as is, but I’ll certainly be happy to hear what everyone else is thinking.
By all means, don’t be shy to send me a reply or leave a comment on the website, and let’s talk.
Cheers,
-Alex
